Sometimes

Sometimes you think you are going to leave your house immediately after breakfast...

but then your laundry is such a disaster & consuming your ENTIRE living room that you can't even manage to find a t-shirt for yourself to wear. 8:45 AM magically became 10:15 AM and you are finally out the door.

Sometimes you feel like your grocery list really isn't that bad...

but then as you make your way through the store you manage to find $50 more in random items that NEED to be in your cart.

Sometimes after said grocery shopping you make it home at the perfect time to feed you and your child lunch...

but then in your haste to get inside, complete lunch at put the child down for a nap you nearly forget you have a trunk full of groceries to unload!!

Sometimes while you are unloading those groceries you hear your child 'playing' before falling asleep like a tiny angel...

but then when you go upstairs to check on him you find that he has smeared poop from his diaper on his crib, sheet, & bumper and he MUST now have a bath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes (apparently) all of the above are enough to prevent your child from sleeping...

because mine has been awake for nearly 45 minutes.

Nobody said it was all going to be glamorous. Nobody said it was going to JUST be playdates & snuggling. Nobody told you exactly how many baby wipes you would honestly use on ONE child in just ONE day ;)

Despite all the poopy surprises, the potentially napless days, the repeated attempts at teaching a 19 month old that he just can't spend all 12 waking hours of his life outside...I am blessed & loving my life. I wouldn't trade a day of my 'sometimes' with Connor for anything.

And now...I am off to pick up binkys, blankets and stuffed animals off the floor in his room because I know he has thrown them out of his crib for at least the 3rd time today.

  2. What a day, Naomi! All in the day of being a Mommy! And you are right, you wouldn't trade it for anything. But sometimes, just sometimes, a break is wanted. ;) And OH NO, he didn't smear poop, did he??? Ooooof!
