Say What?!

Sometimes Connor doesn't pronounce words correctly no matter how many times I repeat it to him the right way. I know this is totally normal & eventually he'll get it right. Case in point, he used to called motorcycles "myco-cycoes" but now he says it just like everyone else.

What we have found especially funny is not these "normal" words that are pronounced in an abnormal way, but the words that are actually not words at all that have somehow found a way into his vocabulary. At some point he started to say the word "go-mee-shoe". It was always at random times, never directed toward a specific object and just seemed to fill a void when he didn't know what else to say. That eventually faded from use & then one day several weeks ago he started to throw out the word "fuh-moy". I will often hear him in the other room pushing trucks around & repeatedly saying "fuh-moy, fuh-moy, fuh-moy..." We laugh at him all the time now when he says it and he recognizes that we find it funny...so he'll slip it into a conversation sometimes & grin as he says it.

We often wonder what his little mind is thinking as he spins out words like 'go-mee-shoe' & 'fuh-moy' and can't wait to see what else he comes up with!
