Connor Turns TWO!!!

October 11th, 2011 & our baby boy is now officially a 2 year old!!!!

We had plans to celebrate Connor's Birthday with family over the coming weekend so Rick & I got to have some time with him on the morning of his actual birthday. Connor actually slept in until just after 7:00 that morning, which worked out perfectly for Rick to get home from work before he was awake & out of bed. When we heard him rustling around upstairs we went into his room, flipped on the light & sang "Happy Birthday" to him!

Initially he leaned against the bed like this, looking tired, rubbing his eyes and not quite sure why Mom & Dad were SOOO excited & singing at this early hour.

It took us less than a minute to finish singing & by then he was warming up to all the excitement, smiles & BALLOONS floating around his room. He kept saying, "Another ba-noon....right there!"

We went downstairs & Connor we delighted to find MORE balloons scattered in the living room!!

And then came his "special" Birthday Breakfast Treat!! Connor & I had to be out of the house in a short amount of time so we skipped making a fancy breakfast & had Daddy pick up these yummy donuts...it seriously was a treat...we don't do donuts for breakfast often/ever.

...and then he got to dig in to breakfast!! He pretty much just ate sprinkles & the chocolate frosting off the top & a tiny little bit of the actual donut...typical 2 year old ;)

We headed out from our house a little later that morning, I went to Bible study at church & Connor got to have some special playtime with Mimi & cousins, Grace, Olivia, Emily. Then we had lunch at Auntie Becky's house & he got his 2nd hair cut (I'll try & post a couple pics)! We were home later in the afternoon & had some more family time together before Rick went to work that night. Connor was a sweet little boy all day long & it was so fun to spend the day just celebrating him!

He is certainly a special gift to us & we can't believe that he is already TWO! He continues to be an active & curious boy, keeping us busy & entertained on a daily basis. His expanding vocab & ability to communicate are definitely bringing us into another fun phase...conversations with Connor can be pretty interesting at times & are often the highlights of my day. You just never know where train of thought of a 2 year old is going to go!

We're scheduled for his 2 year check up a week from today, so I'll have some official stats to post at that point.
