15 Month Update

Connor & I went to the doctor yesterday for his 15 month check up. Here are his stats...

Weight: 20 lbs. 2 oz (3.4%) - still a lean machine
Height: 2' 6.75" (39.3%) - each month he has dropped a little in this category
Head: 19.0" (80.8%) - Rick and I both laughed b/c the Dr.'s comment was, well, his head is growing!

What's Connor up to these days?
Activities
Connor is on the go, every minute he is awake!! He started walking consistantly in early December and hasn't stopped since! A lot of his time these days is spent trying to get into, or on top of anything that he shouldn't. His curiosity is entertaining for us (most of the time) but after the umpteenth time of removing him from a kitchen chair, table or stairs I can tell you I wouldn't mind if he became distracted by something else. He loves to figure out cause and effect with all things. If he pushes a button he expects there to be a noise, light or some sort of motion. He loves dropping blocks or any small toy into buckets or bins. He got a mailbox for Christmas from Grandpa & Grandma and is constantly mailing the letters and then opening up the mailbox to take them out and do it over and over. He knows how to turn his toys on or off and will quite often get multiple noisey toys going all at once. He dances and smiles when we have music on. He is still loving bathtime and will stay in the tub until the water is cool and we make him get out. He also loves books. He likes to look at them on his own and I can sometimes catch him "reading" to himself in a high-pitched voice. He also really enjoys being read to.

Words
Most of his words are still prompted by us asking him to repeat things, but here are the things we can understand...
Daddy or Dada
Mama - it is rare to get this one out of him :(
All done
More - he usually just signs this one
Please - also signs this but is starting to try and say it as well
No, no

Uh-oh
He also makes animal noises for cow, kitty, & rooster

Eating & Sleeping
Connor is a decent eater. He definitely won't just gobble up anything that we put in front of him but I'm hoping it is just his age and eventually he'll be better with textures and new foods. Our biggest challenge has been getting him to drink whole milk. We've tried all kinds of different methods and even different milks (whole, skim, chocolate & rice milk) and nothing seems to please his palate. The Dr. said to just slip a multivitamin supplement into his water or juice for now and continue offering milk or add it to foods and smoothies/shakes for the time beging. I've still been nursing him AM & PM but that will be ending soon so maybe he'll decide he likes milk after that?
He is generally a pretty good sleeper. He goes to bed by 8:00 PM & sleeps through the night, unless he's been sick or teething. We have slowly been getting away from our very early mornings. The last few weeks, minus one random day, he has been waking up between 6:30 & 7:15 each morning. For several months Connor and I were up before the sun, so I am truly thankful for this change in sleep! He generally naps once each day for 1-3 1/2 hours, it really varies each day. On short nap days he may even sneak in a late afternoon cat nap just to make it until bedtime.
We are just loving our active, curious & sweet little man! Enjoy a few recent photos of Connor doing some of the things he loves to do most ;)

Without fail during almost every car ride Connor will remove his socks and boots/shoes. He loves being barefoot and doesn't care at all that the outside temperture is below freezing!

He is a walking machine and is often caught with a remote in hand, pressing the buttons, even if it doesn't work.

He likes to snuggle with his mommy in the mornings or after naps, but not for nearly as long as he used to...he is a busy boy and has things to do!

He is learning to sample new foods (eating an eggroll here) and sometimes surprises us with what he likes

He is a silly little guy and loves to entertain us with dancing, peek-a-boo and funny faces!

And of course he loves his books!
We love you Connor!!!!!!!
