Bringing Up Bittners: Tricks--Treats--Pumpkins

We had a busy & fun-filled weekend of Halloween activities this year!

On Sunday we went to Rick's parents house & dressed up in our 'finest' costumes for some Halloween fun.

We enjoyed lots of yummy food...a few of the festive dishes on display were this spiderweb bean & guacomole dip

And a "brain" were just a few of the creative food displays!!
The kids enjoyed some games & plenty of play time together...oh yeah....& they indulged in some sweet treats too :)

On Halloween morning we finally found some time to carve our pumpkins together! Daddy arrived home from work and we all got to work on carving pumpkins in our PJs (hence the reason I am not documented in any of the carving photos..messy hair, some leftover make up & a not quite awake pregnant mamma....no need to photograph that!!!)

Rick was first to clean out his pumpkin & then look what happened to 'fall' into the bottom!!!?!

Connor was pretty disturbed that his precious binky was sitting in there....hmmmm....what to do?!

Attempt #1 was short lived...he didn't know what to think of the slimy sides touching his arm

But his love for the binky conquered all & he tried again....

REUNITED!!!!

Hooray for Connor's empty pumpkin!!

He kept his tradition from the previous year going & chewed on the top for a little while...there were tiny teeth marks scattered around...I guess raw pumpkin tastes good?!

And while Rick & I were still carving he decided to get to work on filling Baby B's pumpkin back up with seeds & 'guts'...such a thoughtful little boy ;)
